“When you were sinking in the sand, you said, ‘I never told you…’ ”
Finn avoided her gaze. “I’ll tell you later,” he mumbled.
“When you’re not ‘with Poe’?” Poe said.
Jealous Poe!
Poe doesn’t like when Finn’s sectrets are related to Rey. Poe sees a rival in Finn! Finn is Poe’s best friend, but Poe still doesn’t trust Finn and his “Me and Rey are just friends”.
And Rey’s reaction!
The same moment was in the Duel of the Fates script.
Poe is unsure about Rey and Finn relationships like Han was unsure about Leia and Luke.
I will talk about jealous Poe and Rey more in next posts.
BTW, TROS kept a lot of thigs from DOTF, yes, they didn’t do the kiss, but there were reasons (I will talk about them later), dynamics in trio is almost the same in both scripts, only tension between Poe and Rey is higher in DOTF, but don’t forget that DOTF happens later than TROS (Rey and Poe knows each other about 3-4 years in DOTF).
Poe follows her, the lights flickering on, and then:
“Kriff.”
This house is much smaller than the main one, more of a large room with two doors leading off somewhere else on the back wall; it serves as a bedroom, with holo-posters on the wall of various Limmie-Ball players and - yep, that’s definitely a holo of Han Solo.
There’s only one bed. Rey stares at it, her ears burning.
“I’m sorry,” Poe mutters, shaking his head, “Old bat, trying to - he probably assumes we’re - y’know - not that I! I didn’t! - I would never tell him -”
“Poe, it’s fine.”
“It is not fine, my father can be - ugh, he doesn’t understand a lot of things, and I don’t want you to think - gods, I’ll go sleep on the couch, and-”
Rey touches Poe’s wrist as his hand goes to grip his hair anxiously, and he stills under her touch. She smiles at him and retracts her hand, as calm as she can be. “We’ve shared a bunk before.”
